My Philips Pasta Maker shows an error code. What can I do?
Published on 17 October 2022
If your Philips Pasta Maker shows an error code, please read our troubleshooting advice below to solve this issue.
The shaping disc or the lid is not properly attached. Please follow the assembly steps as indicated in the user manual:
Push the mixing chamber into the appliance
Point the mixing paddle towards the hole in the main unit. Insert the mixing paddle all the way into the main unit.
Attach the disc holder to the main unit.
Put the shaping disc onto the disc holder and make sure that it is firmly fixed in place.
Attach the front panel to the main unit
Tightly fasten the front panel control knobs
Close the mixing chamber lid properly. Ensure that the safety pins are correctly inserted into the appliance (see picture below).
If the appliance stops during processing, E2 will be displayed on the screen, the indicators will flash and you will hear an alarm sound. There may be three possible reasons for this:
The mixing paddle may be blocked by a foreign object. Disconnect the Pasta Maker from the power source, open the mixing chamber and remove any foreign objects. If necessary, discard the dough and start making your pasta again.
The dough may be too dry. In such cases, disconnect the Pasta Maker from the power source, thoroughly clean all of the parts and follow the user manual instructions again to start making your pasta again.
Note: It is very important that the flour/liquid ratio is correct, so that the dough has a crumbly (like grated parmesan) consistency. To get the right consistency, follow the instructions in the user manual and weigh out the ingredients with a kitchen scale.
The wrong program has been selected (for Pasta Maker with Auto-Weighing function only). Select the correct pasta program according to the pasta/noodles that you are making ("Plain Pasta" for pasta with water only or "Egg/Flavoured Pasta" for pasta made from an egg/water mixture or a vegetable juice mixture).
The scale calibration was not successful. Please try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Open the mixing chamber lid.
Switch off and unplug your Pasta Maker. Plug in and restart the device.
If EEEE or E3 are displayed permanently after restarting, please contact us for further assistance.
Switch off and unplug your Pasta Maker. Plug in and restart the device.
If E4 is displayed permanently after restarting, please contact us for further assistance.
There is too little or too much flour in the device. Always pour at least 200 g (1.7 cups or 7 oz) but no more than 600 g (5.0 cups or 21 oz) of flour into the mixing chamber.
If 999 or 8.32 is blinking on the display, this means you overfilled the device (999 g or 8.32 cups is the maximum weight of the scale). Please remove flour from the mixing chamber.
Note: The maximum flour amount that can be used to prepare pasta with your Philips Pasta Maker is 600 g (5.0 cups or 21 oz) and the minimum flour amount is 200 g (1.7 cups or 7 oz).
In case 999 or 8.32 is shown on the display even though the flour amount is less than 999 g or 8.32 cups, empty the mixing chamber completely, then switch off and unplug your Pasta Maker. Plug in and restart the device.
If 999 or 8.32 is displayed permanently after restarting, please contact us for further assistance.
