If your Philips SteamPlus Cleaner will not steam, there might be a simple cause. Let us help you make your steam cleaner ready for use.
My Philips SteamPlus Cleaner does not release steam
1. You have not switched on the steam function
Switch on the steam function by pressing the steam button on the front of the appliance.
2. The water inside the boiler has not heated up yet
After you press the steam button, the boiler needs to heat up the water. After approx. 30 seconds the appliance is ready for steaming. The ring around the button turns blue to indicate that the appliance is ready for steaming.
3. The water tank is empty
Fill the water tank and place it back into the appliance.
4. The steam openings are clogged
Over time minerals in the water cause scale to build up in the steam openings. Use the descaling pin supplied to remove scale and other residues from the steam openings.
5. The filter is clogged
Over time the minerals in water can cause the openings in the filter to clog up. For this reason, the water filter needs to be replaced every 6 months.
6. The handle is not at the right angle
To use the SteamPlus and to activate the steam function, you have to pull the handle towards you.
