Philips AventSCD535/60 DECT baby monitor

We used this monitor with our first child and are now using it for our 2nd child, almost 6 years later, and it is still going strong. The sound coverage has always been excellent and very clear. Battery lasts for ages too. The only thing that hasn't lasted so well is some of the pixels on the display screen are disappearing but the screen is still readable. The belt clip and neck strap are handy when walking around the house/garden and all the options are remote from the lightweight and compact parent handset. The one downside of this monitor for us is the lullabies dont play for very long and we have needed to constantly replayed them on occassion to help our kids sleep.

After three years of use my three year old decided to throw this monitor as she was having a tantrum and I realized that this monitor is the one thing I can't live without! I can be sitting ousted without a worry in the world as the range and sensitivity are excellent! The only thing is when I sent my monitor to get fixed it took them three weeks to get back to me just to tell me it can't be fixed although my unit is fully functioning! My baby's unit is the damaged one and I'm not sure if I should buy a new one or if I can find the baby device somewhere since the monitor discontinued everywhere.

We originally had SCD499 and were extremely happy with it. Unfortunately parents unit stooped charging properly after almost 2y of constant usage so Philips replaced it for us with this one. This product is great. We have been so happy with the range and no interference at all. It works well trough very thick walls as well. Lula-byes have a bit of a "metal" sound to them but our daughter seamed to be happy with them. They also go on for a long time. Talk back function is great and so are the temperature and humidity sensors. We have been taking it everywhere we traveled as the bag that comes with it is very practical. If we were buying again I would definitely go for same Philips technology, possibly with a video monitoring as well this time, but as this one works perfectly well even after 3y we are more than happy to use it for baby No2 as well.

This replaced our older Philips baby monitor. This one has never let us down, holds a charge for days on the parent unit, and has never had any interferance from other products.

I was recommended this monitor by a friend and I have to say that its been brilliant. My baby loves the montor's lullaby's to fall asleep to and I love the ease of use and clarity of the sound. Ive heard other people's monitors and this has always been the best quality and beaten the others hands down.

The sensitivity is brilliant and very little static too, in fact it's so sensitive I can often hear people talking outside the house (her room is at the front). But not to worry, if that's too sensitive you can control both the volume and sensitivity. In fact you can pretty much control everything from the parent unit. Great product, very happy with it.

We've orderd it from Amazon because it had very good reviews and the humidity sensor. It arrived today and it turned out, oh irony, that the humidity sensor does not work, the humidity was not displayed on either the parent or the baby unit. According to the manual, it should be displayed like everything else provided the two units are linked, which they were. Just in case I called Philips customer services to have it confirmed that I did not miss anything and that it's definitely faulty and the telephone advisor did not any idea about the product. They were telling me to go through all the buttons on the baby unit which had nothing to do with the humidity, and one pays 4p per minute for talking to them. I then had to turn to the chat advisor who confirmed that it was faulty. We will be returning the product to Amazon and will go for another brand. I cannot believe that this product is considered one of the best ones on the market. If there is already a fault with a completely brand new one, I dread to think how quickly other faults might occur.
