It is correct that the steriliser does not sterilise according to clinical standards. It sterilises for 3 minutes above 95 degrees Celsius. That is more than enough to kill all home bacteria. It is not allowed to call it clinical sterilising, because this refers to sterilising needles for instance and has to do with the complete process. After sterilising, you should for example also pack the bottles in vacuum.
The most important thing is that all bacteria are killed and that happens in the steriliser. After that, you should of course handle the sterilised bottles with care. So do not leave it on the worktop or sink unit or place it in the fridge next to other food. At best you should use the bottle for baby food immediately after a complete sterilisation cycle.
