Clear thinking and decisive action Tales of the unexpected Innovation processes New directions Typical positions in the supply chain at Philips Supply planners Logistics innovation engineer
We operate in some of the fastest moving and most complex markets in the world; so managing our supply chains demands a capacity for clear thinking and decisive action.
In an unpredictable world where successful businesses increasingly rely on global sourcing, we value agility, flexibility and an out-of-the-box approach in our supply chain professionals. As well as a keen sense of responsibility – after all, having the right products are in the right place at the right time has a direct effect on bottom line.
Yet keeping our production lines fuelled and worldwide product distribution on track are not the only supply chain challenges you can tackle. We also have teams of professionals to take care of the innovation process to ensure that advanced, relevant new products move smoothly from development into production. You may therefore work as closely with design engineers as you do with suppliers and production departments.
With roles in supply chain logistics, finance and accounting, we provide the opportunity to move beyond purely product-related supply chain management, enabling you to advance your career by helping to shape the way that our global organization operates.
Supply chain manager
In this role you have responsibility for all supply chain & logistics department operations relating to a specific product line or business group. Given the scale and complexity of our supply chain, this can involve everything from successfully negotiating with third parties to reducing lead time, opening up new supply lines, more effectively sourcing critical parts or motivating your team to innovate the processes they are responsible for.
You will proactively match supply & demand in close collaboration with marketing and sales departments to hit KPI targets relating to delivery, ordering and inventory for a particular product line. With the huge volumes of products processed on a daily basis and the correlation between stock levels and profitability, this role has a significant impact on our bottom line and therefore calls for responsibility, insight and a keen eye for details.
Logistics engineer
Translating supply planning into detailed targets and actions for production departments. You’ll make a valuable contribution to ensuring that our products and processes are synonymous with reliability, maintainability and availability. And that, in turn, has a major influence on satisfaction levels among our customers and consumers.
You will be transferring new products from the design phase into small- and large-scale production environments. With innovation at the very heart of our brand, what you do on a day-to-day basis will have a significant impact on how we are perceived by the outside world and how successful we are as a company.
