Radiologie Oldenburg wanted to replace its existing image management system. The migration had to take place without interrupting its workflow. Philips collaborated with leaders to integrate the solution into the existing IT landscape, provided a solid data migration plan and executed the process smoothly and securely in a short time frame.

    At-a-glance:

    • Migrated legacy studies from 3 different archives to a single Philips PACS
    • 99.7% of data migrated successfully*
    • Solid data migration plan with less than 1 day of interruption to on going operations
    • Improving clinical insight and collaboration with native interactive multimedia reporting

    Increasing efficiency enterprise-wide

Maintaining diagnostic quality is essential to retaining patients as well as referring physicians. Philips unified PACS workspace includes native interactive multimedia reporting and a dedicated referring physician portal to help the provider maintain the standard level of efficiency.

It is really uncomplicated and comfortable to get prior studies in one view and compare them with recent studies; this is critical for oncology patients.

    Alleviating concerns with changing systems

With a clinical-first approach, Philips focuses on end users when designing and implementing solutions. Elevating their experience can help address the alarming trend of clinician burnout and aid in staff retention. Because clinicians and staff can be hesitant when faced with learning new technology, the experienced migration team provided training and support to make the process as smooth as possible.

Most of our employees were anxious about using the new system. I would say that it has gone well with everyone since the system was implemented. Overall, everyone is very happy with it.

    Improving collaboration and clinical insight

Philips imaging solution helps ease the radiologist workflow, allows smooth reporting and simple inclusion of image measurements into the report while manipulating the images. Native functionality – including interactive multimedia reporting, voice recognition, prior exam matching and hyperlinks – and an intuitive user interface help radiologists complete reports faster and with less effort.

Staff at Radiologie Oldenburg indicate they were pleased with the overall process, training and support. Additionally, referring physicians have praised the referring physicians portal.

The system recognizes the images automatically, without great administrative effort, as images from the same patient. This is something that we’ve never seen before here and that’s simply great.
