Technology partnerships

Partnering with industry-leading companies to reduce complexity and improve efficiency

At Philips, we aim to enhance patient care through our technology partnerships. By partnering with innovative, industry-leading companies, we aim to reduce complexity for clinicians, enhance patient care and improve operational efficiency. As champions of true vendor-neutral interoperability, we embrace a spirit of collaboration and adaptability. We work with other vendors to create unified solutions that work together to unlock advanced workflows and move toward a smarter healing environment.
Interoperability partnerships
Philips is leading the effort to shape device interoperability standards by participating in global working groups that are defining Service-oriented Device Connectivity (SDC) standards, forming SDC Collaboration Agreements with other companies and by making our own devices SDC compliant. These standards can radically change clinicians’ experience by enabling them to use truly integrated medical devices. With SDC, bi-directional communication between devices offers a simplified way for clinicians to view – and act on – live-streaming, aggregated patient data.

Wearable biosensor partnerships
Our partnerships with wearable biosensor companies open new sightlines into patients’ status in the hospital and at home. Integrated insights from Philips in-hospital patient monitoring platforms and wearable biosensors may increase timely interventions to facilitate better care. Entire new care pathways become possible by expanding vital sign collection capabilities, allowing patients to receive the appropriate level of monitoring – in the appropriate setting – from hospital to home.

Philips partnerships with monitoring companies address this issue by integrating their measurement technologies into Philips IntelliVue patient monitors. This integration provides clinicians with the freedom to choose their preferred technologies for monitoring vital signs, all within a single, seamless system.
