We are excited to share with you our 2023 Cardiac Imaging MedTalks Series to Drive Clinical Excellence with regards to cardiac imaging techniques and assessment.This Webinar will review the diagnostic imaging modalities used in the evaluation of cardiac diseases, by diagnostic radiologists Dr A. du Plessis who will present on: Cardiac MR – Versatile Cardiac Imaging and  Dr Sood will present on Cardiac CT imaging.

Dr Andre du Plessis

Topic: Cardiac MRI – Versatile Cardiac Imaging

 

In 2010, André joined Scholtz & Partners Diagnostic Radiologists, a
multi-provincial practice. During this time, he developed a keen interest in cardiac imaging (CT and MRI). Apart from clinical radiology, he is also involved in research projects with regards to cardiac MRI.

 

He currently serves on the Cardiac Imaging Society of South Africa (subcommittee of RSSA), as well as Pan-African Society of Cardiology (PASCAR) Imaging Taskforce (ViceChair). André has spoken at local and international conferences on Cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI.

Dr Vishesh Sood

Topic: Cardiac CT: An introduction to the basics

 

Dr Vishesh Sood is a diagnostic radiologist currently practicing at SCP Radiology in CapeTown. He completed his undergraduate medical degree and postgraduate training in radiology at the University of Cape Town (UCT).

 

After completing his studies at UCT, Dr Sood undertook a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Imaging at the University of Toronto. His research has been supported by the Discovery Foundation Research Grant, indicating his active engagement in the academic side of radiology. Today, he applies his knowledge and experience in his practice at SCP Radiology, contributing to patient care in Cape Town, South Africa.

Dr Muthoni Ntonjira

 

Dr Muthoni Ntonjira, who holds a Master of Medicine in Anaesthesiology/Critical care, a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery and an on-going MBA in Healthcare Management, was appointed as Country Manager, Philips East Africa on March 3, 2020 making her responsible for the overall Philips East Africa operations and the business growth agenda in Kenya. She manages sales and commercial partnerships with customers in Kenya, creates and implements the national sales and distribution strategy and the sales plan, including sales forecasts and annual operations plan. She provides leadership to the local team and represents Philips externally.

Ms. Beatrice Davies Hakeem is currently the Diagnostic Imaging and Ultrasound Specialist Leader for the Sub-Sahara Africa region at Philips Healthcare. With over 17 years in Radiography in Multiple hospitals, public and Private sector. 15 Years in Diagnostic imaging corporate healthcare (Philips): Clinical application specialist for 5 years, 10 years as Product Specialist in MRI, Diagnost x-ray, CT, Angiography, Mammography, Ultrasound.
