She was the founding chairperson of Sleep Society of South Africa (1996-2001), she was the Head of Dial-A-Bed Sleep Laboratory, Wits University (1998-2007) and a former member for Africa on governing council of World Association of Sleep Medicine (2003-2015) and for Africa on WHO ICF core set committee and ICD-11 committee (2008-2010).
