Bad cholesterol, is not your friend

High blood pressure is considered a silent killer

The Silent Killer
What is cholesterol?

Cholesterol is a type of fatty substance that your body uses to make certain hormones, produce vitamin D and build healthy cells. Our bodies produce some of it and gets some from the food we eat. When the level of cholesterol in your blood is higher than what is believed to be healthy volume, it is considered a serious as it increases the risk of cardiovascular disease.

The higher your blood cholesterol level, the greater your risk of cardiac arrest.

How does the high cholesterol affect your heart?

When your level of bad cholesterol in your body is high, the excess oily stuff will stick to the walls of your arteries that supply the heart muscle with blood flow. Over time, this excess can create a fatty build-up, much like dirt, that make your arteries become so narrow and reduce the blood supply to the heart muscle causing a severe cardiovascular disease.

What is blood pressure?

Blood pressure is the force of blood against the walls of arteries. It rises and falls throughout the day. When blood pressure stays elevated over time, it’s called high blood pressure.

High blood pressure is considered a silent killer, it makes the heart work too hard and contributes to atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) that increases the risk of Sudden Cardiac Arrest. If you are not aware of Cardiac Arrest, please read the article titled: “What can cause your heart to stop beating?
